“Medium to light yellow colour and a very complex biscuity bouquet, reflecting the skillful use of barrels and well-judged aldehydes. Full bodied, rich and deep with power and drive but also elegance and length and appetizing qualities. A magic wine." - 96 Points, Huon Hooke
Depending on terminology or who you believe, Gosset is either the oldest or the second oldest house in all of Champagne with its origins going back to 1584. A rich, extremely well-made wine. Chardonnay just edges Pinot Noir in the blend, with a little Pinot Meunier adding a seductive brioche aroma. A delicious biscuity palate with an elegant and assertive finish. The Gosset style is powerful, very creamy, and dry but not acidic, full, biscuity and yeasty. This is very serious, distinguished Champagne.
Quality is consistent. Deeper bouquet and flavor than most Cali Zins. The Earth tones come thru beautifully about two years from Vintage. Wonderful
Red to contemplate on its own or with good food.
chianti at a good price- good value for everyday drinking
Not quite in same class as recent chianti from Wine Direct released earlier this year-but also half the price. Excellent value for a red wine: you don't have to worry about finding a superior food to match at this excellent price.
Hard pushed to find a NZ red at this price/quality ratio!
