"An attractive bouquet with core aromas of black currant and red berries, there’s a natural spice quality and layers of barrel and toasty wood, there’s also scents of violet and clay soils. A naturally dry wine on the palate with flavours of red currant and spice, black currant and lees spices with a nut-like oak quality. Firm tannins and a backbone of acidity ensure this wine will age and develop well. Best drinking from 2023 through 2028."

The 2021 Herringbone Syrah was made from 100% hand harvested Syrah grapes from our vineyard. The fruit was in perfect condition after a long hot summer in the Hawkes Bay. After fermentation the wine was matured for 12 months in premium French oak barrels and is now ready for release.
Aromas of fresh cherry, and dark plum the wine is smooth on the palate with hints of berries, spice and black pepper. It is smooth on the palate with some lovely berry notes up front and a nice subtle spice to finish. This wine will continue to improve in the bottle and will cellar well for 7 years but is ready to drink now if you can’t wait!
