Domaine de la Mordorée & Domaine Maby

Domaine Maby
Domaine Maby is located in the heart of the village of Tavel in the Southern Rhône. There are some 60 hectares covering Tavel, Lirac and Côtes-du Rhône, with excellent wines produced in all three colours. The history of the Maby family as wine growers in the Tavel area started a couple of centuries ago. A tradition of skill and originality is at the core of the family’s philosophy and has enriched the estate through the ages. Domaine Maby’s wines are hand-crafted with passion by Natacha and Richard Maby and express their terroir beautifully. Richard Maby is the current president of the Syndicat of Tavel.

Domaine de la Mordorée
The wines of Domaine de la Mordorée have everything we love about Rhône reds – full bodied wines from sun-ripened Grenache with cool notes of leather, spicy garrigue, and smoky black fruits, with a concentrated fruit expression and a refined mineral drive through the palate.

"It is unlikely anyone could find a better-run estate than Domaine de la Mordorée and they continue to produce extraordinary wines whether whites, roses, or their portfolio of serious red wines.”
- Robert Parker

Started in 1986 by the Delorme brothers, Domaine de la Mordorée quickly rose to the Premier League, becoming not only one of the top estates in the Rhône valley, but arguably the estate with the most consistent quality from year to year. The domaine consists of 55 Hectares in 38 different parcels, providing a rich, varied range of soils and climates. Seeking to make minimum long-term impact on the natural environment of their own estate, they have practiced 'culture raisonnée' since they began but the whole domaine has been certified fully organic since 2007.

"I’ve yet to see these guys put a foot wrong, and regardless of the vintage, they’re able to make superb wines. In addition to their terrific Châteauneuf du Papes, they continue to raise the quality of their Lirac and Côtes du Rhône releases. Also, while these all have the ability to drink nicely on release, they age beautifully."
- Jeb Dunnuck, The Wine Advocate
