Domaine de la Mordorée 2015 Releases

The wines of Domaine de la Mordorée have everything we love about Rhône reds – full bodied wines from sun-ripened Grenache with cool notes of leather, spicy garrigue, and smoky black fruits, with a concentrated fruit expression and a refined mineral drive through the palate.

As well as their cracking Côtes du Rhône and Lirac 'La Dame Rousse' - they make two great reds that are among the very best from their respective appellations: The Lirac Cuvée de la Reine des Bois — and the Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée de la Reine des Bois, which are only made in the very best vintages.

There is also a new Grenache-dominated 2015 Châteauneuf du Pape 'La Belle Voyageuse' and don't miss the limited release Lirac Blanc Cuvée de la Reine des Bois - our top white wine pick here at Wine Direct.

Domaine Mordoree has been farming organically for years and make wines from the 132.5 acres it owns in Lirac, Tavel, Côtes-du-Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, averaging about 21,000 cases per year. Since the very sad and untimely death of Christophe Delorme in 2015, the winemaking at Domaine de la Mordorée has fallen to Rémy Chauvet, who was the cellar manager under Christophe for a number of years. Based on these stunning 2015's - the estate is obviously still in incredibly capable hands.

"It is unlikely anyone could find a better-run estate than Domaine de la Mordorée and they continue to produce extraordinary wines whether whites, roses, or their portfolio of serious red wines.”
- Robert Parker
