Domaine Dublére Burgundy 2015

Blair Pethel, the winemaker of Domaine Dublere, was enchanted by the land, people and the wines of Burgundy since his first visit there in late 1980. He moved there permanently with his family and started making wine in 2004, after studying in viticulture and oenology at the famous Lycée Viticole of Beaune. Blair apprenticed with several top winemakers - Patrice Rion in Premeaux-Prissey and Jean-Marc Pillot in Chassagne-Montrachet, to name two - where Blair learned to work both the vines and the wine with care and respect.

Blair brings this attitude to everything he does: his work in his own vineyards, in the vineyards owned by others from whom he buys grapes, in the winery and in the cellar. The estate at this point is very small, but its wines are not. All Domaine Dublère's wines demonstrate that it's not necessary to be big to be extraordinary.

"Domaine Dublere is already achieving wines of startling finesse and clarity of flavour, in both whites and reds."

"Stylistically the wines are ultra pure with very little make-up, indeed in many cases none is noticeable. Do yourself a favour and try one or two and you will see what I mean"
— Burghound

"Winemaker Blair Pethel seems to encapture the very spirit of Burgundy as his wines have a juicy lightness and transparency that all Burgundian wine should have. These wines should not be overlooked by any Burgundy collector. The 2015s from Domaine Dublere are delightful showing both the house qualities and the generosity of the 2015 vintage. I’m very happy to see that Blair has kept the transparency and the delicate purity in the wines even with the additional weight and fruit."
