Famille Bréchet - Sth Rhone

Chateau de Vaudieu - Châteauneuf du Pape
"With over 70 hectares of vines in some of the best sites on the northern side of the appellation, this domain, owned by Sylvette and Michel Bréchet and run by Laurent Bréchet, produces suave, fruit-driven and highly accessible wines that also possess the concentration for aging. The ubiquitous Philippe Cambie consults here, and there’s a decidedly polished, “modern” character to Vaudieu’s Châteauneufs. That’s due, no doubt, to the practice of destemming all of the predominantly Grenache fruit; fermentation in huge, tulip-shaped concrete vats; and raising the wines with a healthy percentage of new and barely-used demi-muids and barriques. Their 2014’s were some of the finest barrel samples I was able to taste from the vintage. In addition, they’ve introduced a new cuvee, the Châteauneuf du Pape l’Avenue that’s all Grenache from sandy soils. It tastes like the essence of Grenache!" - eRobertParker.com

Plateau des Chênes - Lirac
"Famille Bréchet also produce two great Lirac’s. These wines are made at the estate in Châteauneuf du Pape, and along with the releases from Domaine de la Mordoree, are the finest wines of the appellation." - eRobertParker.com

Domaine des Bosquets - Gigondas
"This superb estate covers 26 hectare and is run by the talented Julien Bréchet, who is Laurent’s brother (in charge of Chateau Vaudieu) Philippe Cambie also consults here, and the wines have beautiful polish and elegance, while not losing their Southern Rhône soul. Julien also vinifies the brilliant single vineyard Côtes du Rhône Villages - Domaine de La Jerome at his Gigondas estate." - eRobertParker.com
