Bouvet Chinon 2007
Bouvet Chinon 2007 While the Loire valley is best-known for its white wines, it produces plenty of red as well - the best of which come from Chinon. Chinon wines come from the vineyards around the town of Chinon in Touraine. A tiny bit of white and rosé is produced but in general this is red wine territory. Specifically Cabernet Franc, though up to 10% Cabernet Sauvignon is allowed in blends. The wines vary greatly from lighter fruitier reds off the terraces to deeper, darker more structured reds off the steep and rocky slopes. "Vibrant ruby colour, lovely bouquet with red fruit aromas and spicy notes. Generously round on the palate with raspberry and plum flavours, polished mouthfeel and fine, ripe tannins on the finish."
