Castello dei Rampolla Sammarco 2000
Castello dei Rampolla Sammarco 2000 Sammarco was one of the early examples of 'Super Tuscan' wines, utilising predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with the indigenous Sangiovese grape of the region. While many producers of Super Tuscans go for a highly concentrated super-charged and fruit-forward style, Castello dei Rampolla's Sammarco is all about balance and complexity. In most vintages almost 90% of the wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon. "Fascinating berry, incense and floral aromas. Full-bodied, with silky tannins. Really kicks in on the fresh, bright finish. Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon." - 90/100 Wine Spectator
