Domaine de Marcoux Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2009
Domaine de Marcoux Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc 2009 "The 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape blanc may be Domaine de Marcoux’s finest white wine to date. A blend of 70% Roussanne and 30% Bourboulenc, this 200-case cuvee is sensational. Aged in 100% stainless steel, it is a delicious, full-bodied, powerful white with zesty acidity, abundant notes of orange marmalade, white peaches, quince and rose water as well as terrific elegance, unctuosity, power, purity and length. It should drink well for 3-4 years."- 94/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate This estate has been long run with great attention to detail and passion by the Armenier sisters, Sophie and Catherine. One of the oldest estates in Chateauneuf du Pape (records go back to the 14th century), the vineyards are biodynamically farmed at this small, 42-acre property. The Armenier sisters’ newest acquisition is the Domaine de la Lorentine in the up and coming appellation of Lirac. This wine gets better with each vintage as they get to know the vineyard.
