Francois Chidaine ‘Clos du Breuil’ Montlouis 2009
Francois Chidaine ‘Clos du Breuil’ Montlouis 2009 "Chidaine's 2009 Montlouis Clos du Breuil - an entirely dry wine from pebble- and flint-rich chalk-clay soil - represents his largest bottling, and incorporates numerous lots, so that this tasting note recorded in June is less reflective of the final blend than are my notes for other wines. Picking for the Breuil ranged from the last days of September through the first days of October, representing the commencement of the 2009 Chidaine harvest. High toned maraschino, tangerine rind, and pistachio extract share the scintillating aromatic billing with quince and pineapple. Lush and quite full, yet refreshing - with a rivulet of fresh lime adding to tangerine, quince and pineapple on the palate - and seemingly suffused with chalk in its long finish."- 91-92+/100 eRobertParker.com
