Grand Veneur Lirac 'Clos de Sixte' 2009 This is a luxury cuvee from a very special terroir called Clos de Sixte. The wine is polished, soft and round, showing a little more Syrah character than the other superstar Lirac we import from Domaine de la Mordoree. "The 2009 Lirac Clos de Sixte is composed of 50% Grenache, 35% Syrah, and 15% Mourvedre. The wine has a dense purple color, a big, sweet kiss of garrigue, blackberries, kirsch, barbecue smoke, damp earth, and wild strawberries. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins as well as real opulence and power, this is a big, fleshy Lirac that should evolve beautifully for up to a decade or more." — 91/100 pts Robert Parker
