Trimbach Gewurztraminer Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre 2004 This “Gold Label” Gewurztraminer is named in honour of the Lords of Ribeaupierre, who held sway over much of Alsace in the Middle Ages, and whose ruined castles still dot the foothills of the Vosges mountains above the village of Ribeauville. Pea tendrils and rose petals also dominate the nose of the 2004 Gewurztraminer Seigneurs de Ribeaupierre. Polished and refined on the palate, with clarity and abundant inner-mouth perfume, subtle spice, and suggestions of creaminess balanced against a surprisingly bright sense of acidity this finishes with smoke and flowers, juicy and penetrating if relatively spare and restrained. - 90/100 Robert Parker
