Domaine des Escaravailles Côtes du Rhône 'Les Sablieres' 2008 This large estate is situated high above Rasteau with stunning views over the Dentelles de Montmirail and the Plan de Dieu. It was founded in 1953 by Jean-Louis Ferran. Today it is run by his grandsons Gilles and Nicolas. They have 40 hectares of vines in Rasteau and 7 hectares of the best vineyards in Cairanne. This wine is made with 40% Cinsault, 25% Syrah, 20% Grenache (from Rasteau), 15% Carignan. One of our best value wines: spicy and full-fruited but not heavy wine from this dynamic, award-winning estate in the southern Rhône. Youthfully fruity, with plenty of stuffing and loads of tasty Provençal character.
