Chapoutier 'La Bernadine' Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2005
Chapoutier 'La Bernadine' Chateauneuf-du-Pape 2005 Chapoutier's La Bernardine is a bit different from many other Chateauneufs, in that it is made up of only one to three grape varieties when in fact 13 are allowed by AOC law. It shows complex aromas of currant, plum, coffee, cinnamon, cherry and spice. Peppery flavours with nuances of sage, rosemary and red fruit. "A hint of brick dust on the nose gives way quickly to black currant, pepper and melted licorice notes, all supported by fine-grained structure on the lengthy finish. Grenache and Syrah. Best from 2009 through 2023." - 92/100 Wine Spectator
