Ch Gigognan, Côtes du Rhône Blanc 'Viognier' 2008
Ch Gigognan, Côtes du Rhône Blanc 'Viognier' 2008 Viognier can be a tricky grape to grow. Pick too early and it can be green and vegetal, too late and alcohol levels can sky rocket. But when you get it just right, it can be magic. magic. This example shows bright apricot-kernel fruit aromas on the nose while the broad palate is heady and rich, yet dry and viscous with honeydew and stone-fruit flavours tapering beautifully on the finish. Owner Jacques Callet says he likes to drink it with roast Pork!
