"This is splendidly ripe and richly expressed on the nose, showing blackcurrant, sweet cherry, tobacco, game, and hazelnut aromas. The palate delivers excellent weight and plump mouthfeel, beautifully framed by fleshy texture and fine-grained tannins, making it sturdy and robust with a sustained, structured finish. At its best: now to 2030" Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, Sep 2023

For decades, the Lavaud family has cultivated top Bordeaux terroirs. In 1980, already owning estates in Saint-Émilion and Lalande de Pomerol, they acquired 70 hectares near Pellegrue (Entre-Deux-Mers)—then without a single vine. Over 30 years, they planted nearly 90 hectares, and today manage 100 hectares across three appellations. Through steady investment in both vineyard and cellar, Hubert Lavaud has made Château Les Maurins a benchmark estate in Entre-Deux-Mers, with wines regularly awarded at major tastings.
